Peace! My name is "Stormy Monday" and I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
I am an Art Education Major with minors in Art History and Women's Studies. My concentration is painting. I am a working
artist. Most of my art reflects my interpretation of the world as it relates to women's issues. My work also
refects my love of music, which is jazz. My style has been considered to be a marriage between realism and expressionism.
The more important message of my work is to allow us (women) the freedom to think outside the box. I do not want
us to let anyone or society to define who we are and where our place should be in this world. My plan is to teach art on a
high school level so I may influence young ladies to this objective. I also plan to continue teaching on a college
level with a master's in Art History. Eventually, I would have completed my doctorate in Art History with the concentration
in the Harlem Renniasance.
